Design Challenge
G. Thomas wanted an elegant design that would reach a more affluent target audience while not pushing away their more conservative client base. Coming into the project with a desire for a fixed sidebar and full-width design, they wanted a unique experience to differentiate this site from competitors in their market, but needed their new web presence to be easy to update on their own, even the pages with a more dynamic layout.
How We Delivered
We reached a more HOUZZ aesthetic by employing masculine and athletic shades of blue and gold into their color palette, along with serif header typeface. By incorporating a fixed sidebar, stark contrasts, and medium grays, we kept the design grounded so it didn’t stray too far into the opulent.
Customized templates were created to achieve the desired sidebar and full-width content-space layout. Built on WordPress, the website employed an open source layout engine to help the client create and maintain their own content.
